Everything Nice

Ren is out of town for the week, so I am juggling (literally and figuratively) 4 little ones solo. Let me tell you, it ain't easy. I have to make sure that one or two or three are settled first before I can tend to another one or two or three. This is especially tricky at nap time, bed time, lunch time, when I shower, brush my teeth, take any number of simple trips to the bathroom, any time I breath...or at any other time of day, for that matter. Well, today I had to get Oliver down for his nap. I sat Abigail down in her Bumbo Seat (I highly recommend one if you have a baby) in the middle of the kitchen floor. And this is what I came back to find:

Josephine is turning into quite the little mommy now that she's the oldest kid in the house while Isabel is at school. She even said she made sure to give Abigail "soft food." Now, the "food" was made out of plastic, but it's the thought that counts!

You aren't doing so bad at having the kids by yourself - your floor is sparkling clean. I still have the sticky feeling of spilled blueberry juice on my kitchen even AFTER mopping it up yesterday. I was going to say Nathan's not out of town either, but he is. Funny how that fact slipped my mind.
Your kids are so cute!

Ahhh, see Michelle, that is the benefit of having my cheap-o linoleum. For some reason, it always looks shiny. Even when it's not! Everyone always comments on that. I honestly don't remember the last time I mopped. It was at least 3-4 weeks ago!

I'm so impressed! I have a hard enough time keeping one little person by myself. You really are a super mom. By the way, I LOVED the Bumbo back in the day. It's a real life saver!

I love the picture. Josephine looks like she's saying, "You WILL have a tea party with me, kapeesh?"

You're doing GREAT!!! Hey, I read a scripture just today that said that bringing up children is considered a good deed. (1 Tim. 5:10) So, girl, you will be rewarded for all this hard work and none of it is in vain -- and none of it goes unnoticed! I know you know that, but I also know that it can be incredibly trying sometimes and push you beyond all known limits. Your beautiful family makes me smile. You're a blessing... Love you.

oh-so-sweet. Can I come over and play?

ABSOLUTELY, Shannon! Man, what I wouldn't give for more friends nearby.

sniffle, sniffle, me too. Some days I feel united with nature and my kids and, even, my cleaning. But some days, I'd like to. . . have a playdate of my own.

A playdate at the beach with a tasty beverage in hand!!!
