It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like Fa-all
Well, Fall in Georgia, that is. Meaning that it's been averaging in the 80s. We've had some beautiful weather here in Winder. The kiddos and I have actually gotten to play outside a little bit without the necessary shower and change of clothes afterwards. That's especially nice considering that getting the 5 of us dressed once a day is hard enough as it is! I welcome Fall with open arms. We've been cooped up in the house all summer, so this is a nice breath of fresh air. Pun intended.
Fall is my absolute, 100% favorite season. I love the cooler weather. Cooler weather clothes. The leaves changing colors. Apples. Apple cider. Pumpkins. Hay rides. And holidays that as a Christian, I'm not supposed to like, but totally do. Guilty as charged.
Abby Jean turned 3 months old on the 6th. I'm amazed that we've already reached the 3 month mark with her so fast. In another three months, she'll be 6 months. And in another 3 months will be Christmas. I always say, at the beginning of every September, "Christmas will be here before you know it!" And everyone always looks at me like I am crazy. Well, I may be, but that's beside the point! Mark my words, December will be rolling around in the blink of an eye and you will remember my profound words of wisdom. Naturally.

I'm with you. The Fall in Georgia is THE BEST!
Fall does rule. In Austin, it's in the high 90s thru early October usually, and then even at Halloween (which rules, btw) you have to be careful not to dress your kids in a costume too warm because they might melt.
Huh? What? How do you post something about fall in the south and not mention college football. Wrong just worng!
(btw H-Ween does rule!)
We love Halloween too - we try not to be too gross but Cooper's starting to actually like that. When we lived in Austin Nathan tried to frighten all the kids he could on Halloween. And in Austin, Spring is my fav season with all the wildflowers, but I really enjoy fall here in Buford. In Florida there never was much difference in the seasons. And I don't feel like such a slacker mom b/c I have been outside a lot more lately - I only have 2 to clothe and bathe and it is a chore.

Fall is my favorite, too. It always feels like a new beginning somehow. It definitely will be fun to get the kids out into the cooler air and enjoy the leaves. Do you guys go up to Burt's Pumpkin farm for hayrides? We're going to try that out this year. We've never been, but I can't wait. Fall leaves, cider, pumpkins... Yay.
Greg, I believe I am one of the 5 people in the state of Georgia that actually does NOT like football. It's sacrilege, I know.
Kat, we have never actually been to Burt's. But we drive by it all the time on our way to the mountains. We visit some of the apple houses up there. Lots of fun. We need to try Burt's some time. The past two years we've gone to Washington Farms for our pumpkin fun.
Why does Burt's sound familiar to me? Is it a mountain place?
Fall is fantastic. It always makes me regret being a slacker and not going to an Ivy League school where I can live out my fantasy of living the Dead Poets Society type campus life.
Angela, did you start carving pumpkins again? I did and have for the past couple of Halloweens. Kids trick or treat in our neighborhood. They are soooo cute :) Halloween falls on a Friday this year. Which means your B-day is a Saturday! I hope it will be a fun weekend for you :)
Like your new blog look!
