Happier Days Are Here Again

I must give a shout out of thanks to Stephen Lowe who just gave us a ReplayTV DVR. He acquired it from the McCollums, so I must say thank you to both families for passing on a perfectly functioning, albeit six-year old piece of technology to a desperate family in need. Which goes to show you that if you complain loud enough, someone might just give you what you want in order to shut you up. And I can back that up with scripture, my friends.

It really is true that one man's garbage is another man's (and woman's) treasure. And by treasure I mean idol. And by idol I mean Ren and I have built a small shrine to our newest member of the family and bow down to it several times a day. Nah, I'm only kidding, but I did almost start crying when we got it up and running.

And how did our kids thank us?

By popping in a 17 year-old movie into the VCR.

Ingrates.

Holly, it is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's a satire of all those hero dog movies. It's supposed to be funny, but the humor of it eludes me entirely. My daughters absolutely love it. It's very cheeseballish and has a totally 80s feel to it. Furthermore, it was one of Gina's favorites. The tape actually belonged to her, and my mom recorded it off of tv. Every time they pop it in, I feel my soul begin to die.

at first i thought it was a new cover for benji which is a little stranger and way badly acted upon second viewing as an adult. it still sort of makes you want to cry tho. those kids paul and cindy however--where did they find them?? i was sort of hoping the kidnap rescue would get botched at the end...benji is still pretty cool however. there was another benji made where they put that poor dog in a scuba suit. joe camp should be ashamed!!
