Well, at least I can couch it as a "prayer request." This Sunday over at Fusion Church, the young Padawan (yours truly) will be preaching instead of the Master (Tony McCollum). I can't tell you what a mix of emotions this is for me. It's an honor and a privilege to be preaching for someone who is as gifted of a communicator as Tony. It's also a bit like trying to "cook dinner" over at Julia Childs' house. It's scary, exciting, and nerve wracking all at the same time.
I do want to ask you all to be praying for me as I venture into this weekend. It's funny how these things go. A couple weeks out, you feel great. You've got some ideas. You're confident that God is giving you a word for the people. And then as D-day approaches, you feel less and less confident that you should be even speaking English in front of any one person, let alone a room full of people! Let alone communicating timeless truths from the Word of God. No pressure. Sheesh. I'm not nervous at all. Heh heh. A-hem. Please pray for me.

Praying for you, Ang. Sadly, Davis and I will miss your teaching, we are going to Columbus to celebrate my dad's birthday. I feel confident that you will do great! You do a fine job making the announcements on Sunday mornings and you are a terrific writer, so with the Holy Spirit backing you there will be no stopping God's message from coming out of you.
Angela! I can hear the crowds roar and see God smiling. I'm proud of you! Hey - you have one thing that Tony does not - you are a woman and a mother. Not that that would make Tony better but that makes many members able to relate to you in a way they may not be able to to him. Good luck spreading the relatable Word!
I'm confident that you're going to do a great job on Sunday. Just trust God and His call on your life.
